Thanks to Diane in Denmark at: https://m.youtube.com/@DianeinDenmark/videos who introduced us to a unique camping opportunity:
We were able to register for Season 4 of Kids Cook Real Food Summer Camp #LifeSkillsNow. For our 1st season we have enjoyed the precamp activities which were learning how to write constructive reviews, writing emails with intriguing subjects and salutations.

We learnt how to use a list, get organized, use a timer, have fun and finish the task with some refreshing water. We adore Diane and made our rah rah rah pompoms from some painted paper.
For Tuesday, Day Two Barron selected, Make Ratatouille Like the Movie With Chef Jason McClearen, Partage. The summary says, "We cannot begin to explain how delicious the room smelled as we learned this recipe from Chef Jason! If you think you don’t like one or more ingredient, watch anyway – you may be surprised! No rats in our ratatouille, but the ingredients are much like the movie, Our family was eating up the “chef tips” from Chef Jason, who is a fantastic teacher. We can’t wait to hear if you (and your neighbors) like this dish!"
Barron found Day Three's workshop interesting. It was called: Keeping Track of Your Bills and Why to Pay Them on Time With Katie Kimball, #LifeSkillsNow Host & Founder of Kids Cook Real Food. The summary reveals, "Bills may not be exciting, but there are big consequences if you can’t keep track of them. Join Mrs. Kimball and two teens as they navigate what bills you might have to pay as an adult, which ones have the biggest penalties, and some practical ways to stay organized and make sure you pay bills on time. Will you get the questions right that Leah and Tony struggled with?..I’m Katie Kimball, and as a mom of 4 I hit this point where I was too busy and too stressed out to even think about inviting my kids to help me in the kitchen. But…I needed help so I could stop being so busy and spend time Jo enjoying my children. For the good of my whole family, it was time to teach my kids to cook. Even though I love cooking myself, sometimes having my kids in the kitchen was as painful as doing crafts and finding glitter on everything two months later. But I didn’t want my kids leaving for college not knowing how to cut a vegetable and ending up relying on frozen dinners the whole time! I gave myself many pep talks so I’d remember how important it was, and once I began to see the fruits of my labor, I realized I needed to share our methods with more people. That’s why I created the Kids Cook Real Food eCourse, and why I can’t wait to share it with your family. Send questions about this workshop to: support@kidscookrealfood.com"
For the Day Four Camp workshop Barron was interested in the How to Raise Baby Chicks to Backyard Chickens with Tracy Lynn. During the five days of this "get your brains and body active during the summer" camp we began each day with a video called the campfire circle which talked about the workshops available for that day as well as a life skill beginning with curiosity as a superpower using our observatory skills, advocating for yourself -owning your voice, social intuition being able to read a room what others are feeling and thinking, handling disappointment fail foward by changing expectations, changing our attitude by working hard and learn from failure and practicing gratitude by looking at the positive, and building a can do attitude-believe you can solve hard and new things, try to avoid comparing yourself to others as there is only one you, and be optomistic have a positive outlook.
