This week summarized in a pic:
- The Story of Michelle Obama by Christine Platt and Illustrated by Katie Crumpton
- Muhammad Ali by Ma Isabel Sanchez Vegara Illustrated by Brosmind
To reinforce some topics discussed in the Michelle Obama we played an online basketball game together because that was how Michelle and Barack tried to find their compatibility which you can play for free with no download at: https://poki.com/en/g/basketball-legends-2020
To make the knowledge stick regarding Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr we found a free sheet to download and Barron completed it:

Friday September 29 is Michaelmas Day and we created some nice daisies inspired by the talented people at: https://thiscraftyfamily.com/03/29/paper-daisy-craft/ We also made a leaf dragon taught by the most unique creative souls at:https://myriadonline.co.uk/blog/michaelmas-leaf-dragons
We were able to find an interesting thought about Michaelmas, "This time of year we celebrate the Harvest and Michaelmas. We hear and tell stories about Saint Michael helping the people of the village tame the dragon. Saint Michael is a symbol of good triumphing over evil, courage over cowardice. The celebration of this holiday teaches the importance of facing fears and strengthening resolve. The most important thing to keep in mind is that we all face difficulties in life, both external and internal, and somehow we must find the courage and strength to prevail." Source: https://www.twelvelittletales.com/blog/arnold-the-brave We also read the free story about Arnold the Brave which you can download on the above page.
We did the two story starters page by finishing each with a sentence.
We found a truly enchanting saying, "I give to you a cape of light, To give you courage, strength, and might." This was posted by the sweetest shop https://www.instagram.com/myriadnaturaltoys/
We have loved this creative wise woman since instagram placed her into our lives- LightOfTheStone. Her mini-Michaelmas unit is pure whimsy! You will not be disappointed with this purchase: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1551366568/michaelmas-mini-guide
We read the story of George and the Dragon and the poems and aongs for celebrating and understanding this day.
We did not have access to a printer so Barron coloured the dragon cave and it is exquisite and I did the others, these are templates and pictures from her mini unit: We watched a neat video regarding cheesestrings turning into magic wands to defeat a dragon found at:
and did a worksheet from Twinkl: https://www.twinkl.ca/resource/elon-musk-fact-file-template-t-e-1674549885
Harvest Moon occured September 29 and we could not find ours to share a picture, we went out at 7:45pm and where was no moon anywhere. Since we missed the moon I thought this bookmark which I gifted Barron for this occassion was suitable, "Shoot for the moon if you miss you will land among the stars."

We made crops, an evening sky, and our harvest moon from a recycled piece of paper from an amazon yoga mat order while listening to Neil Young's Harvest Moon sensation https://youtu.be/n2MtEsrcTTs?si=jk_wUyk02N994h4H:
Barron learnt about Theme from this wonderful resource:
https://youtu.be/xwkKBIzpRXE?si=mhZenODCuJLg3Pbl
We solved the theme for some movies:
- John Wick- Trust Only Yourself
- Girls Just Wanna Have Fun- Don't Let Anyone Stop You From Achieving Your Dreams, Not Even Yourself.
