Fall Equinox+Mandala

Welcome Fall!

Today we have an equal amount of sunlight and the same amount of darkness due to the earth's slight tilt away from the sun. To put this concept into play Barron acted as the sunshine holding his 8ball and I rotated the globe (earth) away and toward the sun through the various seasons, equinoxes, and solstices.

Holding to our tradition from Grade 4 we are enjoying the gift that the most lovely creater has shared with us, the concept of a simple mandala which we create together every season and for less than $1.00CDN you can obtain a copy for yourself to enjoy: https://gabitatemporium.com/products/mandala-template. Since we still have no printer I drew it based on this lovely template. Barron's masterpiece is the first Mandala picture and I formed the second:

We found this charming book at the Mississauga Library called We Gather Together: Celebrating the Harvest Season By Wendy Pfeffer and illustrated by Linda Bleck it mentions various fall traditions among the continents and explains the fall equinox in a truly understandable way. I drew a copy of the disgram for ourselves to reference in the future and Barron was quizzed on it and did extremely well.

One of the cutest sayings about October is from Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables books and this generous designer has shared a free download available at:

Thankfully we can share this one design screenshot with as in agreement to the disclaimer by Erica Sooter at her Dwell Beautiful website.

Happy October!
